10 years of the CBRIN first wednesday connect (FWC)
on Wednesday 2 July 2025 as the Canberra innovation ecosystem celebrates a remarkable decade-long journey!
Over the past 10 years, First Wednesday Connect has welcomed more than 22,500 registered participants and showcased over 1,600 rapid-fire pitches, featuring companies such as Instaclustr, MCI Carbon, and Haast. This July, we’re sticking with the proven format that has drawn thousands, businesses, local entrepreneurs and innovators.
This milestone event highlights the incredible evolution of Canberra’s innovation community from an emerging ecosystem to a recognised leader in consistent community building and entrepreneurial support.

Access world-class prototyping facilities and technical expertise through this $160,000 ACT Government initiative. The Canberra Innovation Network has partnered with the region’s premier institutions: the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), University of Canberra (UC), and the University of New South Wales Canberra (UNSW Canberra).Together, we’re equipping local innovators and entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into tangible, physical prototypes.
