I visited the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum in Kobe and honestly it’s one of the best museums I’ve been to. The building itself is stunning, and everything inside is ?. It’s the perfect balance of educational and hands-on, beautiful curation and really interesting pieces on display. You can also try assembling the different types of joinery too! And, it was also basically empty, maybe 2 other groups!
As someone who makes things, I found it deeply inspiring. HIGHLY recommend it if you visit Japan!
